As an aside - Eileen Marcil's history of Quebec shipbuilding, "The Charlie-Man" gives BRIDGET's builder's name as Joseph Dubord-Angers. She was originally registered at the port of Quebec. An English transcript of the original construction contract is included. It is five pages long and covers all the work done and payments made from the time the first timbers were cut and paid for (5 November 1860) until rigging was completed (15 June 1861). Tonnage was calculated at 979 tons and payment was 40/ a ton so the cost was 1,949 pounds.
