Peter, I am replying openly to the List on this admin matter in case it is of general help to others apart from yourself. Our membership listing at Rootsweb is based on email addresses so if you wish to start using a different/new address then, yes, you unsubscribe from your "old" email (essential you use that "old" address, otherwise won't work!), and resubscribe with your "new" address. This applies similarly if, retaining your email address, you wish to move from receiving individual messages to digest listing, for instance, during holiday periods, etc. Full details at: http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/other/Occupations/Mariners.html More generally, members with queries similar to this from Peter should address their question offlist to info@mariners-l.co.uk using the link that is now showing on most Mariners' website pages. Peter - we have now received confirmation from Rootsweb that you have unsubscribed and successfully resubscribed using your same regular email address. Now that I understand your enquiry better I'm not sure whether technically you should have needed to do so through merely adjusting your "from" name (I initially thought you were intending to change your actual email address!) Co-administrator Mick may know better than I. Several test messages from you did, indeed, work through to the List!
