Hi Mick, In some editions of the Registers the place of build is given variously as "Lmkln" or "LmKils". Most vessels with this place of building appear to be registered in Scotland, and I am wondering whether this is not Limekilns, Fifeshire, on the shore of the Firth of Forth. In 1846 a contemporary book, sounds like Lewis's Topographical Dictionary, noted that: "Ship-building, and the curing of fish, are also carried on to a moderate extent".
