I'm trying to track down information about Captain Luke Dodds who was Captain of the East India Company ship 'Walmer Castle' in the early 1800s. Sailings of the Walmer Castle were:- Capt Luke Dodds. (7) 1810/1 St Helena, Benkulen and China. Capt Luke Dodds. Torbay 16 Feb 1811 - 6 May St Helena - 24 Jul Benkulen - 23 Sep Penang - 28 Oct Malacca - 1 Jan 1812 Whampoa - Second Bar 26 Feb - 17 May St Helena - 21 Jul Downs. (8) 1812/3 Cape and China. Capt Luke Dodds. Torbay 23 Mar 1813 - 11 Apr Tenerife - 15 Jun Cape - 6 Sep Whampoa - Second Bar 22 Feb 1814 - 26 May St Helena - 6 Aug Downs. (9) 1814/5 China. Any information about Luke Dodds would be gratefully received. 2. Where might I find information about a marriage on board ship at this time... the bridegroom was the ship's captain..
