While corvettes are being discussed, it may be worth mentioning that of all the wartime corvettes that plied the North Atlantic only one is left.  That's HMCS Sackville, now berthed in Halifax, NS, and open to the public.  She was rescued from a terminal career as a survey vessel by a group of volunteer enthusiasts who raised money and restored her to her active-duty condition.
