    1. [PLY/MA] Ephraim Elsberry & Thomas Rogers 1719
    2. In late 1719, EPHRAIM ELSBERRY was a servant under indenture to Thomas Rogers & Capt. Thomas Barker of Marshfield. In the Plymouth County Courts, in 1720 Ephraim Elsberry was convicted of receiving cash which had been stolen from John Jones Sr by Rogers' servant Kingston. Ephraim was fined double damages for the cash he had received from Kingston. In addition, his indenture was extended by 5 years beyond the indenture's original expiration (not given in the court record). EPHRAIM ELSBERRY subsequently removed to Freetown MA, where he married Mary Boomer, d. Matthew Boomer II, ca 1727. Ephraim Elsberry is one of my brick walls. The 1720 Plymouth County Court record is the earliest mention of him that I have found (thanks to the NEHGS for putting these records on CD). I am hoping that some kind person researching Thomas Rogers or Capt. Thomas Barker of Marshfield may have come across some bits on Ephraim Elsberry, such as the indenture. Thank you for your help, and Happy Holidays, Melissa

I don't have much to offer, and you probably have this already. Bristol Co. Probate Records has the extract of Ephraim Elsbree's will, dated 27 Dec. 1760, probated 3 Nov. 1761. Named are wife Mary; grandson Boomer Elsbree; sons John, Thomas, William; dau's Rebecca Boomer, Mary Elsbree. The name is also spelled Eslbre and Elsbry in the probate records, as well as Elsberry. There's a website with the undocumented claim that Ephraim is the son of Christopher and Rebecca Elsbree and was b. 1699 in England--you might want to click back to the homepage where there's an email link and ask the person who put it online about it if you haven't already done that--since there was a daughter Rebecca this might be hopeful. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~genwest7/geneobase/boomer/Boomfam.h tm
