For those of you concerned about posting your email address on a website where a spam spider might find it, I have implemented an anti-spam measure on my query pages. It was inspired by USGenWeb Plymouth County Coordinator Susan G. Taylor. She uses a graphic of her email address on her pages in place of a mailto link, since such links are the primary goals of the spiders. I am now using graphics for the email addresses of those posting queries to my USGenWeb town pages. This keeps machine-readable addresses completely off of my RootsWeb pages. Mine is the only address posted on those sites with a mailto link, and I use a special account with multiple spam filters for those postings. For an example see: http://www.rootsweb.com/~macbrock/queries.html Click on one of the emails to see a magnified version for those who have trouble reading the graphics. All of my Rootsweb and Angelfire pages can always be reached from my master page at: http://www.angelfire.com/ma4/oldcolony/index.html Dale H.
