It is my sad honor to succeed the late CJ McNew as webmaster of her Bridgewater, Hingham and Marshfield USGenWeb sites. One resource I have used frequently in recent years is her posting of Nahum Mitchell's "History of Bridgewater." I have resumed the ongoing process of converting the scans of Mitchell into HTML pages. One change that I am making is to reformat the already transcribed pages into a format that resembles the pages in the book. If you would like to have a look, the gateway page for Mitchell is at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~mabridge/mitchell/contents.html Follow the link to the resident families index and you can see the new format used for the Ames and Orcutt families. Please let me know what you think of the new format. I am especially interested in obtaining scans of pages for (mostly small) families that, in the residents' index, are marked with a black N, indicating that no scan for that family was ever posted. As I work on converting the already transcribed pages into the new format I'll be asking here if anyone has scans of certain families that I will need for reformatting and proofreading. Fran Ames has already provided me with some of the scans I need, and between those and my photocopies I have most of the major Bridgewater families. Dale H.
