    3. I would like to know if anyone has any information about the following CLARKE/CLARK family of Middleboro (abt 1880s). My great-grandfather, Gilbert Tripp CLARKE, did not like to talk about where he was from. On a recent trip to RI, I obtained his death certificate from the North Kingstown Town Hall and found out the following: Name: Gilbert T. CLARKE Date of Birth: October 27, 1882 Father's Name: Okes CLARKE Father's Birthplace: Middleboro, MA Mother's Name: Ellen PAUN Mother's Birthplace: Middleboro, MA Date of Death: March 29, 1954 Then, from the 1880 Federal Census (Lakeville, Plymouth, MA), I found an Oakes A.J. (b. ~1846) and Ellen A. CLARK (b. ~1844)(whose maiden name was PAREN, they lived with her mother, Sarah PAREN (b. ~1801)) and two children, Willard O. CLARK (b. ~1871) and Earnest W. CLARK (b. ~1873). I found a Gilbert CLARKE in the 1900 Rhode Island Federal Census (Providence, RI) age 18, born in May 1882. The Middleboro Public Library told me there was a Gilbert CLARK in the Middleboro Town Records, but did not elaborate other than to say that the 'E' was not on his name in the record. I had intended to travel to Middleboro during my last trip, but time ran out. If anyone has any information about this CLARKE/CLARK family, please let me know. Thanks, Stephanie P.S. Does anyone know the cost of obtaining a copy of birth certificates from the Middleboro Town Clerk?
