I have done heaps of research in Australia and England....but when it comes to the United States I am a total novice. I am starting from scratch here so I need help.....PLEASE. > What comes to my mind first is to suggest that you use some of the research guides available at various genealogy websites to familiarize yourself with what is available in this country and especially in New England. You will find that research in MA is very easy compared to most other states. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has very good research guides or lessons which give one a good idea of what to do, in what order, and where to look. You might start at the homepage and look around, or just go here and start. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/RG/frameset_rg.asp Rootsweb also has guides http://rwguide.rootsweb.com/ Various commercial genealogy sites also have guides, lessons, tutorials, or whatever. I don't know if this is the right Frank Willett, but the 1880 census has this Hanson, Plymouth, Massachusetts National Archives Film T9-0550 Page 521D Isaac WILLETT Self 52 MA Shoe Maker Fa: MA Mo: MA Frank W. WILLETT Son 20 MA Shoe Maker Fa: MA Mo: MA Clayton S. WILLETT Son 18 MA Shoe Maker Fa: MA Mo: MA The age isn't quite right, but close, and Hanson is adjacent to Whitman. If he is the right Frank, his father might be the Isaac in the Hanson VR born to John, Jr. and Betsy R. Tubbs ( married June 29, 1823 --Hanson VR p. 84) Sep 28, 1827 ( Hanson VR p. 52). Incidentally, the VR shows John Jr. and Betsy losing three children in the spring of 1841. Securing records from MA agencies is relatively inexpensive, although there can be a wait of several weeks sometimes. MA records are available from different agencies depending on dates--this site will give details and links http://vitalrec.com/ma.html Good luck. Keep us up to date--there are lots of people on this list who will want to help. > >I'm looking for rellies of my husband's. > >Lived all their lives in Whitman MA > >I am looking for Frank Willett d. 1945 aged 88 yrs. > >1st marriage >Adelaide Stevenson d. 1900 > >Children: >1.
