    1. [PLY/MA] Keith Family 1776 Bridgewater, MA
    2. Frank Cullison
    3. My GGG Grandfather was James H. Keith born in 1836 in Winslow, ME. I believe that he may be from the Hampden Keith family that came from Bridgewater, MA. Does anyone have a connection to this family or know if they are documented in the town history? I believe Hampden Keith was born 15 JUL 1776 and his parents were Simeon Keith and Molly Carey. I am living and working in Asia so it is impossible for me to get to a library at this time but if you can point me in the right direction for available resources, I would be very appreciative. Charles - John is listed in Robert S. Wakefield, "Plymouth Colony Casualties in King Philip's War" (TAG 60 [1984]:236-242). Wakefield's source was a letter by Rev. Noah Newman written 27-Mar-1676, the day after John was killed at the Pawtucket River battle, printed in Richard L. Bowen, "Early Rehoboth," 4 vols. (Rehoboth: 1945-1950). Elizabeth, as you probably know, was not a descendant of John Howland of the Mayflower. She was the daughter of John's brother Arthur Howland - see Robert S. Wakefield and Robert M. Sherman, "Arthur Howland of Plymouth, Mass., 1640, His Wife Margaret (---------) Walker, and Their Children" (NGSQ, 71 [1983]:84-93. Dale H. 1. [PLY/MA] Web site update, CT and MA
    2. Ray Brown
    3. Two more Avon CT Cemeteries have been added to my web site. The Cider Brook Cemetery is one of the oldest in the town, having a lot of burials from when it was part of Farmington. This makes it important for those doing research in Farmington prior to 1830 as well as those doing Avon Research. The deaths prior to 1830 would be registered in Farmington and have Farmington listesd as the town where they lived. ** This listing also has a lot of information on the Miller family that moved from Northampton, MA to Farmington, CT in 1745. For Bridgewater, MA the births to 1850 are completed and online, marriages are being typed up now. Coralynn Brown has been burning up her keyboard to get these online at a couple differant web sites, we have to thank her for her hard work on these.. On the index page for the Bridgewater Vital Records you will also find links to other Bridgewater web sites. http://www.rays-place.com Cheers Ray Brown Bristol, CT

    2. Plymouth Co., MA, files:-- Thanks to Coralynn Brown's continuing transcription efforts, I have just placed the B surnames from the Bridgewater marriages on line. And from Kingston, I've transcribed 30+ pages of death records from the "Ancient Burying Ground". These are also now on line. The index page of the site has been reworked slightly so that it is now possible to jump past the CT records to MA, RI, NY, MI, or the other sections of data files. I hope this will make the page easier to navigate. Look for the jump links in the left hand column, just under the link to "What's New". The URL is below.
