Ed Hello Barbara & Sam (at the same address); Since you both responded to my query, this answer is for both of you: I was born in Brighton MA, but I havent lived there since 1951. I now live, for the past 45 years, in Raleigh NC. All of my siblings, there were 8 of us, have moved on from Brighton. Tom lives in Quincy. Brother Dan who d: recently has a family in Acton MA. The remainder except John have passed. In the Franklin/Wrentham area of MA, I have many relatives; at least one is heavily into real-estate. We have no Paula Costello that I'm aware of. Richard Costello: b: 6 December 1923, at home 344 Market, Brighton MA; attended by Dr Spellman; bap 20 December 1923, St Columbkilles RCCh, Brighton MA, Godparents: Patrick O'Donnell & Mildred Haggerty Thomas Costello: b: 8 March 1925, at home 344 Market St Brighton MA; attended by Dr Spellman; bap: 18 March 1925, St Columbkilles RCCh, Brighton MA, Rev William Desmond, Godparents: Mathew & Eva Doyle Edward Costello: b: 23 January 1928, at home, 344 Market St, Brighton MA; when King George,V was ensconced on the throne of England, President Calvin Cooledge was situated in the White House, Washington DC & the Volstead Act was in full force ("Prohibition", no booze; it was "inned" & "outed" by the 18th Amendment, 1920 & "outed" by the 21st Amendent to the USA Constitution, 1933), attended by Dr Spellman, delivery fee: $50.00; >>>> according to brother John, "I was thought to be the last child, then Dan popped over the horizon" >>>> according to sister Louise: Ed was born at home in the front room on the 2nd floor of the Market St home with Dr Spellman & midwife Mrs Dempsey (whom, it has been told was rather stout) in attendence, then placed in a basket on a heating radiator; it was mid-winter in Boston MA. On this particular day while the birthing event was in process, sister Mary & brother Tom were to spend the day at Rogers Park ice skating pond, a local city facility. Tom fell in the water & had to be drug home soaking wet, it was the middle of winter in Boston. Both sister Mary & father caught hell over the incident, all survived . >>>> bap 9 February 1928, St Columbkilles RCCh, Brighton MA, Celebrant: Rev GA Quinlan, Godparents: John & Norine Casey Daniel Costello b: 29 July 1930, St Elizabeth's Hosp, Brighton MA; Dr Spellman insisted that mother, because of her age, she was 46 years old & possible birthing complications, birth Dan at St Elizabeth's Hosp, Brighton; delivery fee: $50.00, hospital cost: $87.00 >>>> bap 18 August 1930, St Columbkilles RCCh, Brighton MA, Celebrant: Rev John J Mack, Godparents: Thomas Costello & Jen Costello Dr Spellman, purportedly, was the brother of the past Cardinal/Archbishop of NYC, Cardinal Spellman; I believe that he came from Norton MA. Dr Spellman may have had some connection with St Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton MA.
