I am the great-great-grandson of the Milton Reamy mentioned in this web-site. Milton Reamy's son was also Milton Reamy the keeper of Minot's Ledge Lighthouse off of Cohasset Massachusetts. His son was my great uncle Octavius Reamy who was also the keeper of Minot's light. Together they were in charge of the lighthouse from 1887 to 1924. My mother, Judith Gail Wood was the daughter of Harriet Reamy and Charles Wood. Harriet was the sister of Octavius Reamy. I always heard that the Reamy family was from Virginia. My mother mentioned Sampsons and Manters as Reamy relatives. My grandmother Harriet Reamy was also directly descended from Miles Standish, John Alden, and William Brewster who came over on the Mayflower to Plymouth. The original connection with the Reamys of Virginia is not known to me. My mother Judith (1915-1987) married poet and professor Joseph Langland (1917-2007). I was born in 1951.
