Hello, I was just trying to find information on-line about my grandfather's brother, and I accidentally found a web site offering a book on the descendants of Edward POOLE of 1600's Weymouth. Just thought I would offer this information in case it would help someone: i. Capt. Edward. He was born in 1609 in England, in the neighborhood of Weymouth, as the company with which he came in 1635 and founded Weymouth, Mass., was made up from the neighboring towns, Rev. Joseph Hull being the religious leader. His wife's name was Sarah, but of what family is not known. He fled from religious persecution in England that he might worship God in his own way. He resided all his life at Weymouth. He was a large landed proprietor. He died in 1664 at Weymouth. His will, of which his wife was executrix, was executed Aug. 22, 1664, and admitted to probate Sept. 16, 1664. His will and the inventory of his estate, which were published in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol. 13, 1859, Pages 12 and 13, are as follows : "Edward Poole. - 22: 6 mo. : 1664.
