Author: Judyngaryyoung Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.massachusetts.counties.norfolk/1048.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am in the process of adding Kintrea Family from the Maple Park Cemetery. This I have put on the page of Margaret, and made some family ties via census records. This is not my family and it appears someone could use some help on this surname. I did find a woman listed in Canada message boards wanting what may be this family, and I replied to her. But the listing is age'ed. May not bring anything. I do want to get this out, and I did notice the Springfield plot, and that is where they are. Birth: Jun. 17, 1821, Scotland Death: Jun. 26, 1887 Springfield Greene County Missouri, USA [Edit Dates] I found Margaret in this census: Missouri State Census Collection, 1844-1881 > 1867 > Greene. Listed Kintrea, James, Margaret, John, Wm, James, J, and Jennie. In the MO. Marriage records Jennie married Thomas W. Flitton on Dec 7, 1886 in Greene. There is a Jamie K Flitton 1888-1889 in the same lot with the Kintrea family. Maybe her son. Also a Bissett 1891-1891, and he must be connected somehow to the Kintrea's. I found James in this census: Source Citation: Year: 1880; Census Place: Brookline, Greene, Missouri; Roll T9_687; Family History Film: 1254687; Page: 133.3000; Enumeration District: 38; Image: 0774 It is possible there is a seperation here, and him not buried in the cemetery with the family suggests further may be true. G. W. Bishop 24 Anna Bishop 26 Minnie Bishop 4 Frank E. Bishop 2 James Kintrea relationship blank 64 married painter Scotland, Scotland, Scotland. Margaret was not listed there. Not in order, but with the clues that I had this census was found, and gives a list of the children, and the couple Source Citation: Year: 1870; Census Place: Campbell, Greene, Missouri; Roll M593_777; Page: 75; Image: 151. James Kintrea 51 house painter Scotland Margaret Kintrea *19 keeping house Scotland Agnes Kintrea 21 at home Scotland Margaret Kintrea 19 at home Canada John Kintrea 17 clerk in store Canada William Kintrea 15 clerk in store Canada James Kintrea 14 attending school Canada Frank Kintrea 13 attending school Canada Isabella Kintrea 12 attending school Canada Catharine Kintrea 9 attending school Canada Jane Kintrea 6 attending school Canada * The census page it appears to be 19 for her age but finding her in the Maple Park Cemetery, and other places there was an error made. Perhaps it should have indicated 49. Also there is a child with same name, and she is listed as 19. Todays date is sept 9, 2009 and not sure I will get it finished today, and if not in the next day or two. But all I have found is there, or some found with the family links. I was going by the 1880 census for Crenshaw County, Alabama, living with his son James, it states MA for him and his parents, although I have seen Georgia and SC listed on the other census. I am trying to see if there is any mention of him in the stories or biobliographies of Crenshaw CO, as he lived there for awhile till his death. I do have a small obit from the local newspaper of that time, but it doesn't mention his parents or birthplace. I am thinking it might in a local story about the family, if one was written. Thank you again for your kindness. Dorothea Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. What source do you have for Mass being his b.place? Other than census? Have you located his death record? He lived to such an old age, I am surprised that I am not finding any mention of him in books! I will keep checking newspapers, too... There were other Isaac Ellis's around Norfolk County, but this was the one I FOUND that matched the birth year given. I will give newspapers a shot and let you know if anything turns up.
