ToWhomItMayInterest; A short time ago someone "out there" inquired into some of the history of a Dr Spellman who was thought to be located in the Boston MA area. The inquirers name may have been Sam. I tried to respond but was "bounced". I have some info on Dr Spellman; please, whoever you are, send me an e-mail address. .... I am looking for any information on my great grandfather Fredrick King b1839 in germany. He emigrated in 1865 with his wife Louise Kruger. I found them in the 1870 census Philadelphia with 3 children. By 1880 They had moved to New York Where my Grandfather, Ernest, was born in 1875. This Part of my family is almost completly unknown because of some disagreements that shut them off. Could you please suggest an approach to expand on the information I have already found? The 1870 census says that Louise was born in Switzerland in 1841. Hi List: Is there a way to find a death date from 1920 to 1930? -- Thanks in advance. Tami Johnston New Orleans, Louisiana, USA www.johnstonfamily.tribalpages.com www.arnoultfamily.tribalpages.com
Speaking of which..... I have been informed by a Cousin Russell Phillips who was born in Easton that the cemetery were Captain John Phillips was buried required some type of work and all of the gravestones were removed after a map was made showing the locations of all of the stones. When it came time to place the gravestones back it was found that the map was lost therefore the grave stones where not put back. I, at this time, do not know if the gravestones still exist. I believe that Captain John was buried in the Old Church St. Cemetery. I informed another cousin about the situation and she wrote back... That is the cemetery I was referring to alright. It must have been in 2003 or 4 when I was there and some were standing and others decaying around on the ground, but nothing one could read. I read in Chaffin's book about these men, including Captain John Phillips, designating the land and stepping off this cemetery. Cousin Luella informs me that they had taken pictures of the cemetery and some/many of the gravestones. I've asked her to look for them and send them to me and she has. On July 4, 2009 and what more fitting date when we remind ourselves of our ancestors who fought and died in the Revolutionary War she sent the pictures she took, however they were only views of the cemetery. Scattered amongst the graves the flag of the United States marking the grave of a soldier and given the age of the stones, these flags fly at the memorial of a Revolutionary Soldier. An overhead view of the cemetery using Google Maps in fact shows the cemetery now void of gravestones. Easton. Is there now shame? -----Original Message----- From: manorfol-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:manorfol-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Susan Daily Sent: Thursday, September 17, 2009 5:32 PM To: manorfol@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [Norfolk Co MA] Grave stones - Hennessey Betty, have you visited the Rootsweb Message board for the surname Hennessey and added this info there? Hi: I am looking for a brickwall family. George Albert King was born on 9 July 1887 in Ontario, Canada. He moved to Norfolk County, Massachusetts. He married Mary Geagan b. 1901 in Newton Co., Mass died 1956 in West Haven, Connecticut. I am not sure when nor were even ever married, They had one daughter Mary Alice King b. 1919 in Mass. George/Mary's granddaughter said that her mother never spoke of her dad. I have found them in the 1920 census living with Mary's brother, John, in Norfolk Co., Mass. I cannot find them in the 1930 census in Mass or anywhere. I cannot locate a death date for George. I know they moved to New Haven Co., Connecticut, but cannot find when or where they moved there. I would appreciate any help or assistance in locating them in 1930 & finding where George died at. -- Thanks in advance. Tami Johnston New Orleans, Louisiana, USA www.parisefamily.tribalpages.com
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Blanche BAILEY which was taken at the Burrell Studio in Brockton, Massachusetts. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Blanche likely only 2-3 years old at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Blanche and her family: Blanche I. BAILEY was the daughter of George W. BAILEY and Isabella MCBETH, born in Brockton, MA. Blanche married Herbert E. BAILEY on 29 May 1901 in Brockton, MA. Census records provide the following information: 1900 census of Brockton, MA: George W. BAILEY, age 49, born May 1851, married 12 years, born Canada, parents born Canada, to USA 1874, a House Painter Elizabeth BAILEY, wife, age 46, born Sept 1853, married 12 years, 3 children/3 living, born Canada, parents born Canada/Scotland, to USA 1879 Abbot P.
