Hello, Since the LDS web site has been brought up, I'd like to ask if anyone else is having trouble with it. www.familysearch.org I didn't use the web site for a few weeks, and then, when I tried to use it, I found out we now have to "sign in." That wasn't a problem. But, almost every time I do a "search," I get the "your time has expired" message, and I have to start the "search" all over again ! Is this something which is happening to other people, or does it have something to do with my recently switching to "Norton" ?? I do "disable" Norton when I got to the site, but it doesn't seem to make a difference ! Thank you for your time ! Betty (near Lowell, MA)
Betty, It is extremely rare that I use FamilySearch.org. As a site that with extremely heavy traffic, it could be that you are simply timing out because of the heavy load. Try different times of day to see if that helps. I know this happens at NEHGS. I won't be using NEHGS at all from Mar. 20-22 when they open up the Register database for everyone. Do not EVER turn off your Norton, or any other virus/internet protection. You could wind up regretting it. It is sometimes necessary to turn off anti-virus software when installing new programs. When that is necessary, be sure you are disconnected from the internet.
