    1. Att: DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM RUSSELL OF CAMBRIDGE/MENOTOMY
    2. From: The Arlington Historical Soceity's latest newsletter (Arlington, MA) ======================== ATTENTION! DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM (1605-1662) AND MARTHA (D. 1694) RUSSELL OF MENOTOMY! (aka, of CAMBRIDGE) We in the Arlington Historical Society are very interested in the genealogy of immigrants William (1605-1662) and Martha (d. 1694) Russell of Menotomy, Massachusetts (originally a village of Cambridge, now Arlington). We’re trying to contact as many descendants as possible. The Society cares for the home of their great-grandson Jason Russell, who was killed on his doorstep on April 19, 1775, the first day of the American Revolution. We are very grateful to have heard from numerous descendants of Jason Russell, and descendants in other lines who trace back to William and Martha. We have a lot of information down to about the mid-1800s; after that our records are patchy. And we have very little on the sources of the records. If you are descended from this Russell family, and would be willing to share information on how you’re connected, we’d love to hear from you. You could help fill in the lines from the present back to connect with the nineteenth-century families. This would be a valuable addition to our Russell database. (We won’t put any information about living family members in the database, with the exception of names and locations if that is acceptable) In return, we’ll be happy to share whatever we have that will add to your family tree The preferred email address is canuck@ToughGuy.net . The Arlington Historical Society is at 7 Jason Street, Arlington MA 02478-6410, mark your envelope: Attn: Russell family. ~~~~~
