A couple of years ago - someone on this list sent me the write up on JONATHAN KIDDER, b. March 26, 1728, Billerica, m. MARY LAMBERT, of Reading. I have lost it. I have the KIDDER listing (see below) but would love to have that Billerica listing too. I just cannot figure out what happened to the one sent me. I am sure it was in the notes section for both MARY & JONATHAN in my FTM at one time, but is gone now. If I get this again, I will post it to some Rootsweb boards, just in case! Thanks! He became a school teacher and a "preacher of Holy Writ," serving his native town of Billerica, from September, 1753 to 1784, with the exception of the years 1763 and 1764. He taught what was known as a "moving school," for which purpose the town was divided into "squadrons." "Old Master JONATHAN KIDDER" was much respected in his community. His parent's in law, the LAMBERTS of Redding, Massachusetts, are said to have frequently driven out to Billerica to call, always using a fine carriage, and never twice in the same one," the gentlemen "dressed in light or buff clothes, and top boots," and to have made much display."
