    3. Hello, I've decided to start a mini-project to find out how long the "KIDDER family estate" which was in Westford from the beginning of the town remained in family hands. It was the home of Thomas and Joanna (KEYES) KIDDER. Thomas died the day before the town was annexed off of Chelmsford. Mrs. Joanna KIDDER remarried in 1732 to Samuel FITCH, so she must have remained living on the KIDDER estate for several years with her 5 young sons. I have not yet found out whether she and Samuel lived in "his" home or "her" home. Thomas and Joanna's oldest son, Thomas "Cornet" KIDDER, was said to have had "considerable property," and I would like to know if he lived on his parents' land ! "Cornet" or "Constable" KIDDER only had 2 daughters, so, when he died in 1793, the then "KIDDER estate" went to his oldest grandson, Thomas Kidder GREEN, b1768 Carlisle ! I think he was the oldest of 9 or 10 children of Zacheus and Elizabeth (KIDDER) GREEN. I don't have any further information on him, so I'd like to know if he married and had children! If he did, I'd like to know whether one of his children inherited the "KIDDER estate." And, if I knew how long he lived, I might be able to track down who inherited the property from him at his death ! Thank you for your time. Betty (near Lowell, MA) FYI: It seems that "the considerable property" of Thomas KIDDER (son of John KIDDER) might have remained intact from the 1700's to the mid-1900's. And, part of it "might" be part of the very large "EMMET Conservation Land" in Westford ! (I believe that the "large, ornate home" might have burned down in the late 1800's. And, some descendant or someone might have built a much smaller home on the property. But, the "possible" location of the original house doesn't seem to have a building on it at the present time.)
