Hello, I've been trying to learn how long KIDDER's remained living in Westford, and I was checking census information, and found that same problem that I found a week or so ago ! I found 3 different KIDDER's listed as living in Westford in the 1900 census in the Index at "HeritageQuest." But, when I checked the actual page, right across the top was written the "Town of Wilmington." Last week it was my HUTCHINSON family listed as living in Westford in 1900, and right across the top of the page was written "Town of Winchester." I don't know how this happened, but it seems the transcriber for the 1900 MA census .. couldn't get his or her "W ___ towns" correct ! Just wanted to alert researchers to always check the top of the actual census page to see what town the family "actually" lives in. ... By the way, so far, it seems that Thomas Kidder GREEN did not remain in Westford too long. (See other postings.) And, after 1800, I think KIDDER's had moved out of town. But, in the 1850's and 1860's there was a George KIDDER family there. But, by 1870, George isn't mentioned, and the James Otis KIDDER family is ! Thank you for your time. Betty (near Lowell, MA)
