He was a farmer in Concord, Mass., where he died March 12, 1821 aged 78. She died March 10, 1827 aged 80. Children - p.88 1. Jonathan Prescott b. April 4, 1767; m. Aug 13, 1779, Rebecca Meriam. He d. April 13, 1800 aged 33. 2. Samuel Potter Prescott b. Mar 19, 1769; m. June 7, 1798, Elizabeth Brown. He d. Sept 2, 1820 aged 51. 3. John Prescott b. Sept 27, 1770, died from small pox by inoculation on Oct. 1792, aged 22 yrs. 4. Abigail Prescott b. Sept 30, 1771. 5. Abel Prescott b. Feb 23, 1773; m. 1795, Mary Perry. Lived at Concord Mass. where he d. Dec 19, 1821 aged 48 yrs. 6. Grace Prescott b. July 25, 1774. 2. Dr. Benjamin Prescott b. April 4, 1745; m. Nov. 1768, Dorothy Wheeler, dau. of Jonas and Persis Wheeler; she b. March 16, 1748. In June 1778, he was surgeon to a squadron of men sent to reinforce General John Sullivan at R.I. & 26 of the men were from Concord. He settled at Concord as a physician where he successfully pursued his profession. He d. Aug 23, 1830 aged 85 yrs; she died Nov 1, 1829 aged 81 yrs. Children p. 88 1. Benjamin Prescott b. Ann Read of Lexington on Jan 3, 1819; She d. Sept 4, 1827 aged 30. 3. Phebe Prescott b. July 22, 1796; m. Thaddeus Read, Dec. 8, 1819. 4. Amos Prescott b. Dec 16, 1798; m. Catharine Marcellan on June 4, 1828. 5. Almira Prescott b. Feb 7, 1801; d. May 23, 1805. 6. William Prescott b. April 29, 1803; m. Acenith Knight of Hancock, N.H. on Oct 8, 1825; lived at Buffalo, N.Y. 7. Franklin Prescott b. Aug 28, 1805; d. July 23, 1838. 8. An infant son b. Nov 11, 1807; died in 1-1/2 hours. 9. Eliza Ann Prescott b. Mar 31, 1809; m. Joseph W. Clark of Buffalo. 2. William Prescott b. June 30, 1775; studied for the medical profession and commenced the practice in Carlisle, Mass. but relinquished it from ill health and died of necrosis May 1, 1803 aged 28 yrs. 3. Abigail Prescott b. June 12, 1747; m. Sept 25, 1764, Ephraim Minot. She died from lung fever, Feb 27, 1825 aged 77 yrs. Children p. 88 1. Abel Minot b. July 20, 1775. 2. Abigail Minot b. Jan 30, 1778. 3. George Minot b. Jan 31, 1783. 4. Mary Minot b. Jan 10, 1786; d. in infancy. 5. Laura Minot b. Feb 10, 1787. 4. Abel Prescott b. April 12, 1749. On the 19th of April, 1775, he was fired on by British soldiers as he was returning from the neighboring town, whither he had been to apprise the people of the approach of the "Regulars" (so called), and was wounded in the side, but succeeded in making his escape by secreting himself in the house of Mrs. Heywood. He d. Sept. 3, 1775 aged 26 yrs. 5. Dr. Samuel Prescott b. Aug 19, 1751. On his return from Lexington on the night previous to the 19th of April, 1775 where he had spent the evening in paying his addresses to the daughter of Mr. Milliken, he soon overtook Paul Revere and William Dawes on their way to Concord to alarm the people and apprise them of the intended expedition of the British soldiers upon Concord. When the three had arrived near Hartwell's Tavern in the lower bounds of Lincoln, they were attacked by four British officers of a scouting party sent out the preceding evening. Revere and Dawes were taken prisoners, Samuel Prescott was also attacked and had the reins of his horse's bridle cut but he succeeded in making his escape by jumping his horse over the wall; and, taking a circuit- ous route thru Lincoln, he pushed on with the utmost speed to Concord and gave the alarm of the approach of the British. He was subsequently taken prisoner on board a privateer and carried to Halifax, Nova Scotia where he died in prison. 6. Dorothy Prescott b. July 27, 1753; died unmarried. 7. Jonathan Prescott b. June 11, 1755; died unmarried, April 22, 1810. 8. Lucy Prescott b. April 24, 1757; m. Dec 6, 1776, Jonathan Fay, Esq. & settled in Concord where he became quite distinguished in the law profession. He represented the town of Concord in the General Court from 1792 to 1796 inclusive. He was a student at Harvard College at the time it was removed to avoid the dangers incident to the war. He was son of Capt. Jonathan Fay of Westbrook, Mass., and b. Jan 21, 1752; graduated from Harvard College in 1778; read law and settled in Concord, Mass.
