I'm trying to trace my maternal line in order to make sense of my eventual mitochondrial DNA from the Genographic Project. I am trying to pin down the roots of Anne Collins who was married to Thomas King, maybe on 25 Apr 1608/ 1609 in St. Dunston, Stepney, London, maybe on unkown date in Dunston, Dorset, England; maybe not in Dunston at all. Her husband was allegedly born in Dorset, possibly in Shaftsbury in 1599. Ann may possibly have been born Anne Collins, was born February 22, 1627-8 in Shaftesbury, Dorset, England. Anne's parents were allegedly Henry Collins and Maude Whittacker - who one web page alone, which gives no sources and no e-mail address to contact the owner of the web site, says one record identified her as Ann Sufleffe. We do not know WHAT record, nor where he found it. Does anyone have any specific information at all on Anne Collins' origins?
