    3. Hello, There is a new "consignment shop" in my area and I've visited it a few times. In one cabinet there is a small collection of very old photos and a couple tintypes, etc. I had some extra time yesterday, so I asked the lady behind the counter if any of the photos had names on the back of them. Several of them were done at a photography studio, so the photographer's name was on them, but no name of the person. We did find one photo of a pretty girl who was between 12 and 14, and her name seemed to be .. Edith SIZE. (I know a family with the name, SIZER, so I don't know if they are variations of the same name.) Also in the collection was a "taxi-cab operator's License." (Is that the correct term?) I didn't write down the man's name, but I think it was Antonio TUPELA or TUPELO. (sp?) And the license was issued in Medford, and includes a picture of Antonio. I didn't buy the items, and, if they've been there for several weeks, they will probably be there for another few weeks. Two weeks ago there was a large photo of many people attending a Lodge meeting in the 1940's in Chelsea. I think someone bought it. Another consignment shop I visit has a small collection of school photos. I think they are from the Greater Lowell area. (I have no connection with anything being sold in consignment shops.) Betty (near Lowell, MA) (That is until I attended an Estate Sale last week. I purchased 6, small boxes of misc. items for $10. Inside one box was a few pieces of English china from the 1890's. A lady at a different consignment shop said they might be worth $40 to $70 apiece.) :o) FYI: Researchers on the "British Home Children" List are always hoping to find a "trunk" which the thousands of children would have used when they were being shipped out of England (or the U.K.) ("Over 100,000" needy children were shipped to Canada between 1860's and 1930's. Some with parents' knowledge; some with no. Some were orphans; many were not.)
