    3. Hi Scott, I cannot check the 1930 census from my home, but I checked the 1920 census and find this lady. She is living with an older lady as a boarder: MCKENZIE, CLARA (1920 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, WINCHESTER Age: 33, Female, Race: WHITE, Born: MA Series: T625 Roll: 720 Page: 10 There is also this young family in Winchester: MCKENZIE, DONALD W (1920 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, WINCHESTER Age: 37, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA Series: T625 Roll: 720 Page: 3 (wife and 2 young sons mentioned, Kenneth and Francis) Here is another large family in Winchester, husband, wife and 7 children, but no Stewart. MCKENZIE, EDWARD P (1920 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, WINCHESTER Age: 51, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: MA Series: T625 Roll: 720 Page: 5 This man is single: MCKENZIE, JOHN (1920 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, WINCHESTER Age: 39, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA Series: T625 Roll: 720 Page: 35 The only Stewart I'm finding in Middlesex Co. is an older man. Perhaps he and his wife are the grandparents or great-grandparents. MCKENZIE, STEWART (1920 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, 5-WD NEWTON Age: 77, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA Series: T625 Roll: 717 Page: 40 I see your Stewart would have been born ~1912, so I'll check the 1910 census: There is a family here with father and married son both named, Alexander, living together in the town. The son has 2 very young daughters, and possibly could have had a son a couple years later. MCKENZIE, ALEXANDER (1910 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, WINCHESTER Age: 70, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA Series: T624 Roll: 606 Page: 181 This man was with his wife and 6 young children and could have had another son later: MCKENZIE, EDWARD P (1910 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, WINCHESTER Age: 42, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: MA Series: T624 Roll: 606 Page: 181 .. This is interesting. This man is listed as a "hired man" living with the HOOD family, and - living next door to my Thomas and Mary HUTCHINSON. MCKENZIE, GEORGE (1910 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, WINCHESTER Age: 35, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA Series: T624 Roll: 606 Page: 204 Perhaps the HOOD family lived across the street from the HUTCHINSON family on Hutchinson Road. John IRWIN was next to them, but down Ridge Street from them. And, William IRWIN was living in the HUTCHINSON farm across the street. The 2 HUTCHINSON Farms sat at the intersection of those 2 roads (Hutchinson Rd. was formerly Fruit St.) In 1910 there are 2 Steward McKENZIE's but in different towns: MCKENZIE, STEWART (1910 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, 6-WD NEWTON Age: 66, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA Series: T624 Roll: 603 Page: 124 MCKENZIE, STEWART (1910 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, READING Age: 28, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: MA Series: T624 Roll: 605 Page: 113 (a young couple with a baby) Betty (near Lowell, MA) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Bosecker" <sbosecker@mindspring.com> To: <MAMIDDLE@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 07, 2009 3:53 PM Subject: [MAMiddle] Stewart A. 3. Betty, Sorry I'm slow responding. I've been out of the country without [reliable] access to the internet. Thanks for the census work... Ancestry.com [I'm not a subscriber so I'm limited in what I can see] shows a Stewart A. McKenzie born about 1913 in Middlesex County, MA. I can't see the actual city he is in or any information on the household but this sure looks to be the right guy. Perhaps the newspaper reported the location information incorrectly.
