Hi: Curious on this... why the "bad reputation" on the book you mention... Is it not an accurate account? I have the book, a reprint.. I hope it has SOME good info that is of use.. My Revolutionary Patriot (DAR) was Job Spalding... His wife was Abigail Pierce.. From research I've done, I don't believe she had biological parents after her age of 10 yrs.. I know her father died before she was a teenager.. It appears her mother re-married and didn't live very long either.. I don't have the info nearby, but that is my recollection after researching her family for many hours. I would like to know for sure, her mother's maiden name.. the best I can tell, it might be Joanna Townsend.. I found Job and Abigail's burial info but I believe her age and birthdate is wrong.. It shows her much older than she was.. I would like to see the original document of her death.. I will perhaps order film from a FHC very soon... Ellie S.
