Hi again, I'm browsing for RAMSEY people coming down from Canada in the middle-to-late 1800's and came across this family. I'd just like to offer it as an FYI: RAMSEY, SARAH (1920 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, 9-WD CAMBRIDGE Age: 96, Female, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA Series: T625 Roll: 708 Page: 253 RAMSEY, SARAH (1910 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, 9-WD CAMBRIDGE Age: 85, Female, Race: WHITE, Born: CANA Series: T624 Roll: 596 Page: 204 In 1910, Sarah is listed in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Hugh and Jane MURRAY. She had had no children after 35 yrs. of marriage, but they have an "adopted daughter" listed as Marion MURRAY, 19, bMA. Both Hugh and Jane (and Sarah) had come down from "CAN / ENG" in the 1880's. Sarah was listed as having had 10 children but only 2 live. Also in the home is a nephew, Harry RAMSEY, 24, bCAN/ENG. Hugh MURRAY is listed as being a gardener in a cemetery. In 1920, Jane MURRAY is also a widow and living with her mother, then 96. It looks like many RAMSEY people came down to MA from Canada. (A few had RAMSY spelling.) I'm not finding the family of Benjamin and Elizabeth RUMZY (sp?) and daughter, Amy, in census pages. If Amy RUMZEY / RAMZEY married in MA in 1875, perhaps she came down about 1872 at around Age 20. (I've seen that many young men and young woman came down from N.B. and N.S. looking for work.) Betty (near Lowell, MA)
