Hi Doug, Thank you for all this information. I haven't looked at my "history of Billerica" in a while, so I forgot that HILL was a big name in the town. I just checked and there is 5 pages on the name in the Genealogy section. And there are 2 sketches of HILL houses, one a garrison from 1600's and one from probably 1800's. That one looks familiar; it might be the historic home on Andover Rd. And, I don't remember whether I've seen the 1780 map of Woburn. Is "Wright's Corner" at the bottom of Ridge St. where High St. meets up with it? Yes, Ridge St. goes from the bottom of the hill at the Woburn line (current terms) and up to the top of the hill at the Arlington line (current terms). And, in 1780, I would think there would still be only the 3 farms at the top of the hill, with possibly houses at the bottom of the hill. At that time there was probably Fruit St. coming up the hill from the other direction. It didn't change to Hutchinson Rd. until maybe after 1800. And, today Ridge St. goes around to become Forest St. to the Arlington line. I don't know whether Ridge St. would have originally gone to the then West Cambridge line. Betty (near Lowell, MA) P.S. Yes, we have found tidbits of information about "Thomas DITSON," Billerica's "Yankee Doodle man." And we know that after he fought in the Rev. War, he moved his large family to Ashby and Townsend. But, there is very little information on the family while in that area (and Mason, NH). So, we don't know where Thomas died and where he is buried, and I don't think we know where and when his wife died. "Yankee Doodle Weekend" has been held in Billerica every September for over 15 yrs.
