But, they married in Glasgow, Scotland, ~1855. They had 2 daughters there and then migrated to MA / US in 1857. My gr-grandmother was 3 mos. old when they arrived. William and Eliza had several more children after arriving. I have the names of Eliza's parents, but nothing else on them, so I don't know if Eliza had siblings. I'm told the HANNAH and RITCHIE couples probably migrated back and forth (together) between Ireland and Scotland looking for work ~1800-1820. Betty (near Lowell, MA)" Thanks for the story Betty but I haven't done enough research on our Ritchies to know if there is a connection to yours. Family lore has it that the Ritchies were UELs from Virginia who went to New Brunswick. But there is also some indication that they immigrated from Scotland or Northern Ireland directly to New Brunswick...that would be interesting research to sort out and it appeals to me but my primary goal at this time is to find Mary Williamson. According to an entry on an archived 2001 message board Mary Williamson dtr of Thomas and Janet Peters married Geo F. Ritchie son of William and Mary Jane Kirkpatrick in Malden in1898. They had two children: William F and Jennie. When Geo F. and the children immigrated to Canada in 1908, Mary did not accompany them, nor was she ever heard of again. Now we would like to know what became of her and also her birth date as well as place and date of death. I have had several responses to my query and have received suggestions for further research which I appreciate very much. I may have to return for further assistance! In the meantime thank you for the interest. eleanor
