Hello, Just an FYI for you. We were driving in Westford last weekend, and drove by an old graveyard that I didn't remember whether I had stopped at before. I stopped by it 2 days ago and found the plaque stating it was the "West Graveyard for .. ROBINSON .." And there are mostly historic stones in the relative small cemetery, and the sign says it is mostly for Revolutionary War soldiers. There was a large stone for PRESCOTT, and other names from Westford's history are there. It's in the "Forge Village" part of the town. It was cold and rainy that day, so I was only there for 10 minutes. I'll go back on a better-weather day to see if the KIDDER surname is there. * Betty (near Lowell, MA) * I had already found out that my ancestor, Thomas KIDDER, dying 1730's, is in the other historic graveyard in Westford - near the Tadmuck Swamp area. ***** I just checked the web site for the Westford Historical Society and they are having a tour of the Fairview Cemetery next week. That is the name of the graveyard where Thomas Kidder is buried. http://www.westford.com/museum/ If anyone is going to be in the Lowell area during May, the "Forefather's Graveyard" in Chelmsford Center, and the several graveyards in Westford are only about a 15-minute drive from each other. Mostly on Rt. 110, or on a road which leads to Rt. 110. And there is an historic "B&B" nearby - which I can't think of the name of at this second. But, Thomas Kidder's widow, remarried to the man who the B&B is named for. (Joanna (KEYES) KIDDER had a difficult decision when she remarried after Thomas' sudden passing. Should she stay in their large, fancy home in Westford with her 5 young children? Or, should she move to her new husband's large, fancy home in Westford?) (Wouldn't I love such a decision !) :o( Oops. A quick Google search and I found it: Samuel FITCH http://www.samuelfitchhouse.com/
