I think a slight clarification is in order. It may not make a difference, but could. Benjamin and Mely did not marry on July 24, 1779. They filed their intentions of marriage in Pepperell on that date. Typically, the marriage would have been about 3 weeks later. Also, it is not an absolute that they were married in Pepperell. The published VRs, NEHGS 1985, has nothing further. See http://MA-VitalRecords.org/MA/Middlesex/Pepperell/MarriagesH.shtml#HUDSON While there is very little chance that the Pepperell Town Clerk has anything more, I'd give them a call. Maybe there might be a church record that NEHGS missed in '85. His parents marriage is also shown in Pepperell. But none of Benjamin's siblings marriages so I am assuming they all moved to Vermont sometime after 1779. I am desperatly trying to find the parents of Benjamin's wife, Mely Smith. I would like to think that her parents were also around the Pepperell area also. They had a granddaughter named Amelia and I would also like to think her name was Amelia and was called Mely. Benjamin and Mely also had a first daughter they named Milly Hudson so her name could have been Milly. Any Smith research going on in this area at this time frame would be very helpful. Thanks ever so much for any help. >Norma Roberts > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MAMIDDLE-request@rootsweb.com with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject and the body of the email with no additional text. >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MAMIDDLE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
