The main Dodge family progenitors were brothers, John and William Ddoge who arrived in Salem, Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1629 from whom descended verly large families who lived in the Essex and Middlesex Counties and spread throughout the United States and Canada. I did not see the original query regarding the Dodge family. A Genealogy of this line of the Dodge Family was published in 1894 and I have a copy. There was an other volumn published a few years back which brings it more or less up to date. Tristam Dodge was apparently not part of this family. I have done some research on this family as they were neighbors of my progenitor in Beverly and Wenham, Massachusetts and together the Dodge and Edwards families established a cemetery in Beverly in the late 1600 which is still in use by our families. One of my distant grandfathers had five daughters all of whom married Dodge men and when one died the daughter married another Dodge. The Dodges have been marrying into the Edwards since the 1600's.
