Hi again, I just remembered that I forgot to mention the other people in this old photo we have. And checking their names with census information, I can come closer to dating that photo. They were George and Harriett (KERR) DUNN and their young son, Leroy DUNN. I checked census and find them here: DUNN, GEORGE A (1920 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, 5-WD MEDFORD Age: 43, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: MA Series: T625 Roll: 715 Page: 23 In 1920, Leroy is 16 and he has a younger sister, Dorothy, 13. That puts Leroy born ~1904. But the boy in the photo looks to be 4 or 5, so the photo must have been taken between 1908 and 1910. The father was a brakeman for a steam railroad. I'm not spotting George A. Dunn in the area in 1910. The 1920 census says he was born in MA but his parents were born in Maine. George and Harriett probably married around 1902. Harriett was 35 in 1920, so she was a few years younger than her husband. (He was not well liked in the family.) My mother's notes say that George and Harriett had a 3rd child, a daughter, Harriett. If she isn't mentioned in 1920, she must have been born after that. My mother's notes also say that Leroy married Ruth ROBINSON, but they divorced and she didn't have further information. She said the daughter, Dorothy DUNN, married Francis DONOVAN and had 2 children. The daughter, Harriett, married twice. With Ian SHIPLEY she had 2 children, and then she remarried to James O'NEILL. (I think I mentioned this extended family on the Lists a few years ago.) I don't have access to 1930 from home. I'll go check the archives to see if it's mentioned in my old postings with responses. That would show when daughter, Harriett, was born. By the way, my grandfather had an older brother, Joseph KERR, who married Minnie PETERSON. They had 4 children. My mother was only able to find tidbits of information on their first 2 sons, Arthur KERR and Kenneth KERR. Arthur married then divorced and remarried, no further info. Kenneth married and had 4 children. This is Joe and Minnie in 1920, with their 4 children ages 14 to 8 at the time. I can't read his occupation but it almost looks like he had something to do with a newspaper. KERR, JOSEPH (1920 U.S. Census) MASSACHUSETTS , MIDDLESEX, 3-WD EVERETT Age: 39, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: MA Series: T625 Roll: 709 Page: 201 The 2 younger children were Doris KERR who married John KELLEY. And son, Fred KERR married Emma NORTH. It is a descendant of Joe and Minnie KERR who I have made contact with. Betty (near Lowell, MA) (Check archives of the MA Lists for further information on the above families.) FYI: I checked 1910 and find this man, but he is living as a son-in-law with a CURTIS family.
