    3. I am looking for anyone with a connection to Thomas Costello born in Ireland about 1828. I don't know what county in Ireland. His father's name was Michael and his mother's name was Mary which I learned from his marriage record. There is a Thomas Costellow listed in a Lowell, MA directory in 1849 who could be him, but I can't find him in the Lowell 1850 census. Thomas Costello age 32 is in the 1860 Lowell, MA census along with a Michael Costello age 35 who could be his brother. He married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ostrander, born in Plattsburg, NY on 3-18-1861 in Lowell and the family later lived in Billerica. Below is a link to my rootsweb page on Thomas Costello. http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=johanson&id=I177 Any hints or help on his county of birth in Ireland and immigration to the US would be appreciated. 3. Have you looked for his naturalization papers at the National Archives branch in Waltham? If he became a citizen, the papers could be there, or he could have been naturalized in the Lowell Police Court. I think the latter records are at the Mass. State Archives. If he became a citizen, the ppaers may show county of origin, date and port of arrival and date of birth. You should also look for death record, obituary and tombstone in Lowell. -dja
