Good morning, Sue. Since 1841 all town clerks make copies of the vital records and send the copy to the State Archives. The Archives copy those to microfiche and sell them. I looked at the records that NEHGS has online. The record for Arthur is on Vol. 533, p. 478. You can search he index at http://www.sec.state.ma.us/vitalrecordssearch/. There is NO Arlene Fitzpatrick in the database. When searching NEHGS, the search will even find a name like Catherine Arlene. None. There is no Catherine Fitzpatrick born in 1903 in the database. There is an extremely slim possibility that the town clerk missed copying Arlene's birth to the copy sent to the Archives. You can call the town clerk and ask for a lookup of the original records.
