Hello, I'd like to ask a favor. I'm interested in a property in Chelmsford for non-genealogy reasons. I've been wondering for several years who owned the property before the 1950's. I had thought it was a LINNEHAN family. But, I went to the on-line "deed" records yesterday, and found the one I needed. It said the property was sold in 1958 by Frank W. MASON (and his wife). I checked the 1920 census and found several MASON families in Middlesex County. I did spot a Frank W., and he was in Tewksbury. If I read the handwriting correctly, he was a live-in worker at the Tewksbury Infirmary. He was about 35 (born VT), so he could have either been part of a family in Chelmsford or bought a property there during the 1920's. But there were no MASON's in Chelmsford that year. I just rechecked the 1920 census and found an Anna MASON (born Nova Scotia) at the "Tewksbury Infirmary" but as a patient. She was also in her 30's. * I find another man in Tewksbury, and he appears to be Rev. Henry MASON, 55, from NH. Betty (near Lowell, MA) * Several years ago a helpful researcher went through the records, and posted information on the Nova Scotia List on many of the people at the Tewksbury State Hospital who had been born in Nova Scotia. The postings were interesting reading. FYI: There are 2 teen-age nieces living with a Frank CYR (widower) family in 1920; the names appear to be Esperance MASON and Kitty MASON, and they were both born in Nebraska. Frank has his 2 children with him, and his mother-in-law, Susan RICE. They lived in Malden and each person seems to have come from a different state.
