    3. Hi Irene, I don't remember that "drive-in restaurant" but you have jogged my memory to the one which I think was somewhere near the Fresh Pond Rotary in Cambridge - or closer to where the Alewife Station is now ! And, the Fresh Pond Rotary is another place which has certainly changed since the 1950's and 1960's ! Betty (near Lowell, MA) P.S. Cars and trucks sure have changed our world ! If we don't slow down the use of cars and trucks, we'll be building roadways ... 200 ft. in the air ! Actually that might be a way for us to get "healthier" on ground level ! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Irene Landenberger" <landen2@msn.com> To: <MAMIDDLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2006 11:16 AM Subject: Re: [MAMiddle] Wellington Circle, Medford, Wellington T Station, Malden > Hi, There was also a Richards burger place there with "car Hops". They have Mass. vital records indexed through 1910. You can order copies of the records by writing to each individual city clerk, but where there is more than one place involved, you might try writing to the State Archives instead for the copies. They have the same indexes at the Archives that I accessed online. Ordering information is at www.sec.state.ma.us/arc/arcres/residx.htm. Under "Duplication Services" about halfway down the page is information on ordering "certified copies of birth, death, and marriage records." Copies are only $3 a piece.

    1. divorce after 1900 and before 1910
    2. Hi - I have not search for divorce records before. Where would I look? George Hezlitt AKA Hazlett married Catherine Montgomery circa 1850. They had six kids. On the 1900 census, Geo & Catherine were still married. Geo was 70 and Catherine was 67. On the 1910 census, Catherine is divorced and living with Geo jr. Pretty late in life to be divorcing, esp in those days They lived in Cambridge. Any online suggestions? will I have to write to the courthouse in Cambridge?Kathy Montgomery Victoria, BC

    3. Betty, Some time back there was information regarding a company that would publish small numbers in book form. I don't remember the details. Perhaps just knowing there was someone doing this you could search them out. Irene ----- Original Message ----- From: Susan Daily<mailto:cullivans@gmail.com> To: MAMIDDLE-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:MAMIDDLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 02, 2006 3:36 PM Subject: Re: [MAMiddle] WELLINGTON, HOMER in Cambridge, Arlington, Belmont, etc. Betty, A dear friend of mine (and 13th cousin, coincidentally) who loves genealogy as much if not more than me is a member of DAR. My friend told me her 4th cousin joined DAR partly because she is able to publish her research as a portion of the DAR's official publications. This way you don't have to self-publish, and your information gets into many libraries. Other societies, for example NEHGS, also take well documented family trees and publish sections of them, space permitting. I actually just purchased an online photo book that I filled with my JPG images of family homes (shells, really) from Ireland, maps of the Irish townlands, passenger lists images, ship images, naturalization paper, World War I draft card image, old family photographs, old newspaper clippings scanned, and tombstone photograph. I also told the story of my immigrant great grandfather and immigrant great grandmother, who their parents were and where in Ireland they were baptized, how they met in the US, about their children, where they lived, and when they died. It is just a 20-page glossy paperback, but it only cost $10, so I am anxious to see how it comes out. I collect all this stuff; it will be fun if I can actually see it in hardcopy on my bookshelf! My neighbor showed me a hardcover book that her daughter's father-in-law self-published about his own personal and family history. It was very well done, but I don't know how much it cost.
