To all on the list, This may be of some interest to some and if I get anything wrong please correct me. The Cahill House which is know known as the Cambridge Hospital had a maternity ward in the 1960s I do not know when it was built or if it was called the Cahill House but my grandmother had been born their abt. 1909. it is on Cambridge St. past inman square but before Youville (spelling) which used to be the Holly Ghost and only terminally ill patients. Cahill house which still stands today is a red brick building and still used by the hospital I believe the street behind it is called line street and if I am correct if not all of it part of it is in Somerville. Take Care and I hope this may help someone if not maybe it will be found interesting. Good Luck Aine

Raffaela Evangelista no date in arrival and no other information but I can't look at these records because I am not registered.I never got a hit on Emily Evangelista but she is Salvatore and Raffaela's daughter so I assumed she was with them - she was born 1891or 93 so she is young. thank you

J. Killoren is in the index...they haven't made the image available yet. What NEHGS did was they originally posted the index for all they years 1843 to 1910; but the index only gives the name, type of event, vol and page # of the record, and the town. Then little by little they have been linking the index entries to the actual record, where you find all the good stuff...such as with Thomas Edgar's death. So when we are saying no image available...that only means NEHGS hasn't posted it yet. It's been a slow and painful process...Some towns they have skipped some years and volumes and I am wondering why and I am often yelling at the computer screen...but this database is NOT available anywhere else as far as I know, SO LET'S HEAR IT FOR NEHGS!!! HOORAH!!! If I were you...in a couple of months I would try posting all these names again; perhaps they will be up by then and that way we won't forget to check for you. Lisa

Betty - you asked me: Perhaps Janice can post the DIX paragraph from the "History of Chelmsford." Does it say who their parents were? The following page references for Dix - in the book's Index are all transcribed below. Unless there is a family history in this book but which page number wasn't in the Index? The Cemeteries in this Association are not all of the Catholic Cemeteries in the Boston Archdiocese, however. Right off the bat I know of six. Jack

Hello folks...here is the link to the Boston Archdiocese Catholic Cemetery Association, with listings and locations of their cemeteries and information about how to obtain burial records (for a fee); however...try calling the office (they will probably banish me from the church for this!); you may be able to atleast get burial location/plot # in a specific cemetery if you know where/when the person was buried. This is how I located my gr grandparents grave in St. Pat's in Stoneham. Esp. if you have access to a fax machine... http://www.ccemetery.org/About/locations.html
You'll be extremely lucky if they still have the records. I contacted a hospital in Western Massachusetts regarding their records and they said they purge after 30 years. As far as my OWN records go, my hometown doctor just sent out a notice stating all records older than 10 years will be purged at the end of the month. I have contacted hospitals in the Hartford, CT area and they also say 30 years and then records are purged. If it was a small community or more of a high profile death, such as accidents, etc, than you may get some help by searching through old newspapers. I have a story about an ancestor who passed away due to injuries from an accident at work, where he was caught in a pulley and went through machinery. Good luck with your search!
