My ancestor Daniel Malone came over from Ireland at approximatly the same time and apparently made short "stops" in New York and Maryland (1779) before a longer stop in Pennsylvania (by 1783 and lasting until at least 1800, but he likely moved west through PA during this time). He settled in Columbiana County, Ohio where he passed away before 1820. There are no Thomases on this side of the family at that point in time, but Daniel did name his eldest daughter Sarah (born in Maryland in 1779). Best information is that Daniel's wife was of German extraction; presumably he met her in NY or MD. Her first name was Mary. Grasping for straws, John Maylone > From: "H. The first Malone book had some misinformation included about Sullivan County. This last edition didn't even mention them as far as I can tell. I think these Malones go back to John Malone of Frederick Co., MD about 1750 or so. I can't get them any earlier and that connection is circumstantial.
