Ross, You are getting me interested in Dr. Randolph A. Malone's Book. I am researching the Malone line in Smith and DeKalb County, TN--trying to connect the correct children to their parents. I am finding this a challenge as the children of the early Malone's in Smith County had left home by the time of the 1850 Census. In 1820, we had in Smith County, TN: James MALONE, b. abt. 1790; lived in Smith Co., TN, DeKalb Co., TN and Missouri. Robert MALONE, b. 1776/1780 (possibly, 1783). I found one on the Jefferson Co., ILL Census for 1850 at age 67. Samuel MALONE, b. 1776/1794 (possibly, 1794). Another researcher had told me that he and his wife, Annie Chapman died "when their children were young"; however, I found a Samuel Malone in DeKalb County on the 1860 Census at age 65. William Malone, b. abt. 1791 and died abt. 6 Mar 1871. We also had an older Robert MALONE, b. bef. 1776 on the 1820 Smith County Census. What I would like to know is whether Dr. Malone has the children of the above Malone's sorted out. If he has those lines in his book, it would certainly be worth the price to me. Thanks, Velma
