Dear Gwinnetta, Dr. Randolph A. Malone's Book lists all of the people you describe in your message but it does not show proof of the elder William's parentage. It lists him as the probable son of Yancey Malone who was born circa 1770 in Granville County, NC and died at some time after 1830 in Henry County, TN. In addition, Yancey Malone is listed as the probable son of Nathaniel Malone, the second-oldest son of Isham Malone. I'm sure you know that many records did not survive the War Between the States and this connection may be hard to prove. The oldest remaining official record of Nathaniel Malone is one showing his service in Granville, NC with his commanding officer, Captain James Yancey. This adds weight to the notion of Yancey Malone being Nathaniel's son. There are four additional generations listed in Nathaniel's ancestry. The book I'm citing is a wonderful reference book and is well worth the $70.00 or so if you should choose to purchase it. Good luck in your searching and best wishes for the holidays.
