Gordon, I appreciate the information so much. I know I have Robert's children and Yancey's mixed up, but I'll keep working on sorting them out. From the early Smith County information, it is hard to tell whether the guys on the 1820 census were brothers or maybe cousins. It will probably take me a few more years. You are truly a kind soul to help me with my dilemma. I also have a Hale line from Joab Hale born bet. 1750-1760 in Greenville, SC.
