Hey Cheryl I am not sure exactly how the MELLOWN(MALONE) is connected to my line of MELLOWN(MALONE). below are some names that i am searching....i will have to go thru my files to get some dates on my line for you...There is a LUTHER R (could be RANDAL) MELLOWN , from TEXAS married a MARGARET from colorado. then there is a A. L. MELLOWN married to SARAH SIMMS (COULD BE ELIZABETH) LIVED IN MISSISSIPPI. In WALKER COUNTY ALABAMA JOHN MELLOWN married to ELIZABETH SEXTON.....this is all i know on these names kim Looking for additional info on my gg-grandfather, John MALONE (name is spelled MELLOWN in mariage records). The following is basically all I know of him. 1) found on 1870 census - Polk Co., TX 2) born ca. 1840, possibly in TX 3) married Charlotte Elizabeth GAY, 25 Dec 1867, Nacogdoches Co., TX Their children: William Calvin MALONE ('Cal') b. Apr 1865, Elbert Eli MALONE ('Eb') b. 28 Sep 1867, and Solomon MALONE b. Mar 1870. Charlotte Elizabeth marries again in 1876 (to James OWEN/OWENS, and again in 1886 to John CARTER). New information indicates that the couple may have split-up. Solomon was unknown to the desecendants of William and Elbert, so he either died young or went with John if there was a seperation. Descendants of William heard that William and Elbert were seperated for a time as children. Descendants of Elbert heard that John had returned on horseback, swooped Elbert up and carried him off. Elbert said that was the last he ever saw of his mother. So, what happened to John MALONE? Did he remarry and have another family? Also, who were his parents? Texas 1860 Census Linn Flat Beat 9 . Solomon Malone 36 TN. no wife listed Marcus L. M 6 La. John H. M 4 TX. Margaret F 2 TX. Adline F 8 months TX. his first wife was Eliza Hamsley,figured she may have died between Oct.1859 and June 1860. He remarried a Desire Decker,April 05, 1863 in Ellis Co., Texas, I really do have a little more on him,if this is the same Thank you Gary Malone
