    1. [MALONE-L] My MALONE dead end.
    2. Bettye Heinrich
    3. I have never been able to go back on my MALONE ancestry further than the following: Davidson Co TN in 1823. GALVIN/CALVIN Malone m. Alpha W. Bumpass They were on the 1830 census there with what I assume to be his elderly mother as Alpha's parents were living. I have reason to believe that Galvin/Calvin was connected to the Malones from KY. There was a Benjamin Malone living near them that was probably a relative of about the same age. note: depending on who has read the marriage record the spelling is either Galvin or Calvin. Galvin and Alpha had only 2 known children neither of which are shown on the 1830 census: sons: William Joseph Malone bc 1825 and Thomas George Malone bc 1830. Nothing is known abt Galvin/Calvin beyond what I have shown above. I next find my Malones in Ouachita Parish, LA where Alpha Bumpass Malone had m2 to Dr Wm N T McDonald and her son, Thomas George Malone married Simantha Leonard there on 10 July 1850. No trace of son William Joseph Malone until they serve in the Civil War. Both Thomas George and brother William Joseph were taken prisioners of war and were 'parolled' in June 1865 in Monroe, Ouachita Parish, LA. Btw that date and the 1870 census taking they moved to McLennan Co TX where they are found on the census. My Thomas's wife died and he m2 Mrs. Sarah Holly Woodruff. At that time, Thomas gave 2 of his dghts (Eliza and Sarah) to Isaac and Pretia Malone to raise. Isaac Malone was bc 1815 KY and married Pretia Nix in East Feliciana Parish, LA but eventually removed to central TX. It has been said that he was a cousin to my Malones but I have not been able to make the connection. Obviously they were well acquainted since they lived in nearby TX counties (McLennan and Hill or Hamiton). Isaac married my Eliza Malone after the death of Pretia; he was in his 60s and she was 21. William Joseph Malone was still in McLennan Co TX on the 1880 census but no trace of him after that. Thomas George Malone and Sarah Holly Woodruff had 2 sons: Thomas Edwin and George Washington Malone bc 1882 and 1884. Thomas died 1879 in McLennan Co Tx. Last trace I have of his 2nd family was when widow applied for Civil War pension while living with her son in Milam CO Tx. I hope someone can help me unravel my Malone puzzle. Bettye
