    1. [MALONE-L] My MALONE family and dead ends.
    2. Ok, Nicole, here are my MALONE ancestors. I don't have much but it just might help someone or me in the long run. I have quite a bit on the LAKE family so if anyone also has them please let me know. A very little on the SLEITH and BEVINGTON families. My G-Grandfather: William Thomas MALONE b. 17 March 1852 Bulger, Washington Co., Pa. d. 6 July 1920 Pittstson Hospital, Luzerne Co. Pa. m. Henrietta LAKE b. Flanders, Morris Co., New Jersey 14 June 1876 Jersey City, Hudson Co., New Jersey His parents: John MALONE b. 6 December 1830 Smith Twp., Washington Co., Pa. d. 1 April 1899 Smith Twp., Washington Co., Pa. m. Sarah Ann SLEITH b. Ireland Bef. 1852 Washington Co., Pa. His parents: William MALONE b. 10 May 1808 Candor, Washington Co., Pa. d. 17 July 1881 Washington Co., Pa. m. Ruth Ann BEVINGTON b. Pa. 23 March 1830 Washington Co., Pa. His parents: John MALONE Sarah ----------- This is all I have on my MALONE family and of course would like more but have come to the proverbial brick wall. Some of the data above was shared with me by some other MALONE descendants and by very helpful people in Washington Co., Pa. I might add that William Thomas MALONE worked on the railroad and it is a mystery to me how someone who lived in Washingon Co., Pa which is in the southwestern part of the state met a woman who lived in the northeastern part of NJ. Could it be because Henrietta's brother (s) worked also for the railroad and they brought home a friend? This kind of thing interests me and to me is the nuts and bolts of genealogy. I doubt if I will ever find out as the people who would've known are long gone. Hope someone recognizes my MALONE family and if so please get in touch as I am most willing to share what I have. Thank you Bev simibev@aol.com

    3. Bev, After reading Denise's post and then yours, I'm wondering if our lines don't all converge in Washington County, PA. > His parents: > John MALONE > b. 6 December 1830 Smith Twp., Washington Co., Pa. > d. 1 April 1899 Smith Twp., Washington Co., Pa. > m. Sarah Ann SLEITH b. Ireland > Bef. 1852 Washington Co., Pa. > > His parents: > William MALONE > b. 10 May 1808 Candor, Washington Co., Pa. > d. 17 July 1881 Washington Co., Pa. > m. Ruth Ann BEVINGTON b. Pa. > 23 March 1830 Washington Co., Pa. > > His parents: > John MALONE > Sarah ----------- As Denise noted, my gggg-grandfather's eldest daughter, Sarah, was born in MD, and all his subsequent children were born in PA, apparently in Washington County, in the 1783-1800 time period. Your William, being born in 1808, would be in line to be a nephew of my Daniel, so maybe he and John were brothers? That's a thought worth pursuing. My Daniel named one of his sons William, and his eldest daughter was Sarah. Your William's birth year of 1808 also makes him a contemporary of Denise's Jacob. Makes me wonder if there weren't a family of Malones that came over together........!?!? Thanks for the post.......you've given me some food for thought, and I know now that I need to do some Washington County related searching. Pity I'm here in CA!!! Regards, John
