    1. [MALONE-L] Margaret Malone-Ailbaun,Co.Mayo,Ireland
    2. Hello all. Thanks, Nikki, for asking for a Malone Roll Call. Here is my one-and-only Malone -- my ggrandmother: Margaret Malone, born 1840 in Ailbaun, County Mayo, Ireland; married John O'Malley, born 1836 in Lanmore, County Mayo, Ireland. (Birthdates & Birthplaces are on their tombstones in Jackson, Tennessee.) These ggrandparents of mine came from Ireland and lived in Jackson, Tennessee. Grandfather John worked for the railroad, especially the Illinois Central Railroad. All 4 sons also worked in Jackson, Tennessee, for the Illinois Central Railroad. Sons were: John Francis (J. Frank), married to Lily Wyman (Richards) (my grandparents); buried in Canton, Miss. Edward O'Malley, married to Vivian Walker; probably buried around Chicago. William Patrick O'Malley, married to Madeline Perrault; buried in Jackson, TN. Thomas Alyosius O'Malley, married to Margaret Pigott; buried in Jackson, TN. Daughter, Margaret Marie O'Malley, married to Joseph Neal Gallagher; burial place unknown. G-grandmother Margaret Malone O'Malley is a virtual BRICK WALL. I know nothing of her parents or family, so would really love to connect to my Malone family members. Is anything here familiar to anyone? Has anyone done any research on relatives in Ailbaun in County Mayo? Micki O'Malley Powell (NarcisGoza2@aol.com) Researching Malone, O'Malley, Wyman, Brooks; also Coleman, Clark, Goza, Mitchell.

    3. I know exactly what you mean Brenda! MY MELLOWN {MALONE} are hard to trace because of the spelling......I found my great grandfather name in the 26th Alabama Regiment with SAMUEL S MALONE......but his spelling supposed to be SAMUEL S MELLOWN........my grandfather was born with the name JAMES MEADOW MELLOWN.....but when he died he was known as & buried with the name JOHN MEADOW MALONE.......Not many of the MELLOWN spelling left for they are baring daughters instead of sons.....and most of them had their spelling changed to MALONE.......there are other spellings with MALONE.........MELONE........MELLON.........MELLAN........ just something to think about...... kim Malone Morris ----- Original Message ----- From: Brenda Middleton <blmidd@as.net> To: <MALONE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, October 22, 2000 6:01 PM Subject: Re: [MALONE-L] Margaret Malone-Ailbaun,Co.Mayo,Ireland > why are the Malones so hard to trace I only know back as far as my > grandfather his name was John Malone born june21, 1900 and married lucielle > peterson and they had 4 children all born in Ohama Nebraska all were put up > for adoptions in 1935.
