    1. [MALONE-L] Malone (Sumner Co., TN)
    2. Ann Hill
    3. I am new to the list. I am descended from the Malones of VA and TN. Unfortunately by line is left off most researchers lists as my ancestor was already married by the 1850 census and not picked up as a daughter of William L. MALONE and Sarah Shelby WEATHERRED. I have a copy of a court document filed in Tipton Co, TN after William's death which lists Sarah Frances Leetch in the list of heirs. William L. as son of Hallery Malone. She was SARAH FRANCES MALONE (Fanny) born about 1832 in Sumner Co. Married Aug 1849 to William K. Leach (correct spelling is LEETCH) in Sumner Co. They moved to Maury Co., TN. She and Wm K. Leetch left for Texas ab 1871-1872 and died in route. Their children are found in 1880 Woodruff Co., Ark census without the parents. The children moved on to Navarro County, TX by 1900. My grandmother was their daughter: Ella Polk Leetch who married William Edward PURSLEYL in Navarro County, TX. If you are of this MALONE clan, please add us to your data base.

    3. MR. ROSS: You have done a favor to many by providing information on the origin and distribution of Malones in Ireland. You strengthen views I formed tentatively while trying to trace early 19th century Malone emigration from the Mountmellick, County Laois, vicinity. 1. [MALONE-L] Request for enlightenment......
    2. John Maylone
    3. Greetings, everyone, I see a lot o freferences to a Daniel Malone who was married to a Mary Busby. Could someone give me the available where/when and offspring of this union? I am descended from a Daniel Malone whose wife was named Mary (last unknown) and whose eldest child, Sarah, listed her birthplace as Maryland in 1779, although his subsequent children were born in 1787 and after. The eight year gap (followed by six more children at approximately 2 year intervals) suggests that Mary may not have been the mother of Sarah. Any assistance will be appreciated!!

    3. Dear Ross Thank you so much for your reply. I'm not certain of the exact year that the Malones came to Kane County. They appeared in the 1860 census. I'm sorry that I have packed away most of my genealogy papers as I will be moving to DeKalb County in a few weeks and I have boxes and boxes of papers that I have packed thinking that I will sort everything once I unpack...I am researching the Malones for a cousin of mine who is interested in tracing his family back to Ireland. As I recall his ancestor was Patrick Malone. I would appreciate whomever you could put me in contact with and possibly make a connection....thanks again for your help and your information...Patricia Meyers, Worth, IL

    3. Dear Patricia, The Malone name is found all over Ireland. Many Malones were Catholic and many were Protestant, many were professional and landed gentry, while many were peasants. They are very hard to trace. County Offaly is the place of origin for the O'Maoleoins. The first "Malone" was Maol Eoin the Abbot of Clonmacnoise in County Offaly. Prior to taking the name Maol Eoin he had been Murray Longhead O'Connor, of the Great Clan of O'Connor who were the Kings of Connacht. Maol Eoin, his son, Gillachrist O'Maoleoin, and many O'Connors are buried at Clonmacnoise which was a large monastic "university" on the banks of the River Shannon. It's a wonderful place to visit even today. Chuck Malone is a researcher who descended from Malones in the Kane County area. Prior to that his Malone family (and mine) were among the early settlers in Kentucky and Virginia. I'll get Chuck's e-mail address to you so you can start with him. If his family and yours are the same, we can get you way back. At what time did your Malones come to Illinois? 3. Hello, I am a new subscriber to your List. I am researching my great-grandmother Elizabeth 'Eliza' Malone(y) born in Whitegate, Co. Clare, Ireland circa 1840s. Died in Durham, England in 1912 under the name of Eliza Kelly. We have travelled to only church in Whitegate but was denied access to their register by the priest. Eliza does not exist anywhere other than the mother on my grandmother's birth certificate and in the 1881 census. We have hit the proverbial 'brick wall'. Any suggestions? 1. [MALONE-L] Edward Malone family of the Path Valley, Franklin Co., PA c. 1800.
    2. George W. Page
    3. Hello folks; I'm new to this list and trying to find more info about the family of Edward Malone who lived and died in Metal Twp. in the Path Valley of Franklin Co., PA during the later part of the 1700's. I am specifically interested in the name of the spouse of his daughter, Mary Malone, who was living and mentioned in his will proven in 1804. In the will of Edward Malone, proved May 17, 1804, he mentions his wife Rosanna, three sons (William , James, Edward), and a daughter Mary who was to receive 40 pounds.Rosanna and her two sons, John and Dennis, (by a previous marriage) were to receive his farm in Metal Twp.. He stated he had bonds on Thomas and Byron Malone for the sum of three hundred fifty pounds. One of the Executors together with his wife was Joseph Brown! The Wit.: Joseph Dunn, James Hamilton, David Beaty. [p. 204]. Thank you very much, George W. Page Bryans Road, MD

    1. [MALONE-L] malones of leitrim-west lothiamthe HESLIN side of this
    2. Luke MALONE .was married to CATHERINE MORN. both were bn in IRELAND. Now, also in LINLITHGOW in the same time frame was PATRICK HESLIN - who was married to MARIA MORN. Both PATRICK& MARIA were bn in LEITRIM, IRELAND.PATRICK abt 1833 AND MARIA abt 1834. PATRICK'S father was MICHAEL HESLIN....... I have the name of Maria MORN'S mother - It is most likley ---Anne MCKEON.I do not have any information on the mother of Catherine MORN, But would be willing to bet the store that Catherine & Maria were at least cousins if not sisters. Also , the witness for Patrick &Maria's marrage was Francis HESLIN...... Francis HESLIN. and his wife Mary Anne BARTON were both bn in LEITRIM, IRELAND. Francis was the son of Robert HESLIN - COUNTY LEITRIM. Francis WAS BORN ABOUT 1833.Mary Anne was bn abt 1835, COUNTY LEITRIM the daughter of Robert BARTON....... Patrick & Francis were not brother but again wouldprobably ber cousins....... and most of these peoplebeing of the same age[abt] would most likley have come to LINLITHGOW together and they lived close to each other....... Francis HESLIN and his wife MARY ANNE had only three children I could find ---- BRIDGET HESLIN bn MARCH 6, 1857 MARY ANNE HESLIN bn MARCH 19, 1859 ROBERT WILLIAM HESLIN bn JANUARY 10, 1863 All these childerne were bn in LINLITHGOW, WEST LOTHIAN.... So, Now we see the MALONES - HESLINS - MORNS - AND BARTONS were all related and living close together in LINLITHGOW....... There was also a Peter HESLIN LIVING IN LINLITHGOW AT THIS SAME TIME. PeterWAS ALSO BORN IN COUNTY LEITRIM--- Peter'S FATHER WAS JOHN HESLIN - MAYBE ANOTHER COUSIN Peter was married to Catherine MURDOCH... the banns of marrage for Peter AND Catherine were announced JUNE 24, JULY 1 AND JULY 8 1849. They would of been annouced at that time. and, if you look at the dates of their childrens births------- Barney HESLIN BORN DECEMBER 31, 1856 Aandrew HESLIN BORN FEBRUARY 8, 1859 Catherine HESLIN BORN MAY 23, 1861 YOU WILL SEE THAT THEY HAD NO CHILDREN FOR THE FIRST SIX (6) YEARS OF THEIR MARRIAGE ----- THE SAME AS JAMES MALONE AND BRIDGET MURRAY.....I WOULD NOT FEEL LIKE I WAS TAKING LIBERTIES IF I SUGGESTED THAT PETER HESLIN AND JAMES MALONE WERE TOGEATHER SOMEPLACE OTHER THAN LINLITHGOW FOR THESE YEARS.jail maybe I realize this is a bit thin,,,,, But this ties all the HESLIN AND MALONE families in LINLITHGOW together in one way or another all denning-dever-cogan in mass-some malone-carroll-mcguire-doherty-mcneil-piscopo-mazzola-heslin-martini-feddis-fa rley-dennen-dinan-fredricks- ____________________________________ "we go to school to learn the words of fools" bob dylan

    1. [MALONE-L] Thomas Malone of White Co., AR
    2. Rita Floyd
    3. I am looking for any information on Thomas MALONE, who is living in White Co., AR, possibly by 1870. I believe him to be the father of my gr-grandmother Lutetia MALONE, who married Charles S. ALTOM in White Co., in 1883. Thomas is listed in the 1870 in the Township of Jackson. His wife's name is very difficult to read on the census records, but appears to be Euing E. Children listed as follows: Sarah F., 21; Martha, 15; Charles C., 9; Loutica, 6; In 1880 census records, in White Co., Denmark township, there is a Thomas MALOON (possibly misspelled by census taker) with wife Piney E. and children Calvin, 18 and Lutucha, 16. I have considered that both the "Loutica" and "Lutucha" are misspelled variants of Lutetia. Thomas may have been born in either TN or GA. Both are reported on different census records. Does anyone know anything of this family? HELP! Please. Many thanks. Rita __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! 3. Thank you Art. I did find one of my Catherine Alex (nee Lynn) Malone's great nephews after a post in 1998 on genform. He just got a computer this winter and while I was in FL for a break for a few months he wrote me. It was waiting here when I got home. This is my cherished grandmother's maternal side. Most of my families are from the New Eng area. My mother lived in Forest Hills Long Island Queens NY for a few yrs. My grandmother and her family were the first to leave the area for OH. I know their are family there. Our Catholic lines are large (not as large as my Amish/Menno) So I know there is family and one day they will find me or I will find them. I am one stubborn Irish kid. Thanks for you wishes of luck. ~pat~ Preferred Customer wrote: > I'm sorry I can't help you. Where is everyone else on the list? One of > them might know. > A few months ago I found my family. 3. My knowledge on my Malone line is that my ggrandfather was John Francis Malone according to his b/c record from Eng. His parents were John Malone from Ire and Alice Anderson from Settle Cumberland. I have the info from the 1881 census in Whitworth Lanc Eng. I think the entire family came to the US. But I have no verification at this point. I do know where John and my Catherine Alex (Kelly/Lynn) Anderson/Malone are buried in Fall River. I do know this couple was married in Fall River. I forget the date though. So far this is the only spelling I have. But that is not to say it is not different for other lines. My ggrandfather was Richard Franklin Entwhistle and his wife was legally Catherine (Bryan) Entwistle as were her son and my mother and her siblings. So the name change is seen in almost all my lines. Even my Mueller/Miller lines. Compare your ggrandfather's family history to mine in Fall River MA. I do not know my Wm Malone's mother's name. I am trying to see if she is buried at St. Patrick's in Fall River with my John F. Malone and Catherine Alex (Lynn) Malone. Thanks for your response. This branch is very dear to my heart. ~pat (entwhistle-entwistle/gethen/hershberger) griffiths/jones~ Darke Co OH Preferred Customer wrote: > Hi Pat, If your Malone's were Maloney's and in NY near Buffalo > then it would be mine. > My great grand father was William A.
