    1. Re: [MALONE-L] Dicy/Dicey Malone
    2. Gordon, Thanks so much for the information. The Dicey Malone I am looking for was married to George McGraw. They moved to Alabama. Had 7 sons and 7 daughters. We have no information that would appear to fit the Dicey who married George Eubank, but she might have been an aunt, or cousin. We are still looking! Thanks again. Arlene

    1. [MALONE-L] Dicy/Dicey Malone
    2. The book by Randolph A. Malone titled Malone and Allied Families, Second and Revised Edition, which I consider a Bible of Malone genealogy has the following on any Dicy/Dicey Malones: Page 1011 Clinton Co., KY 1850 census: John Malone 44 Farmer TN, Dicy 35f TN, Edward 10, Daniel 5, No name 2/12m. - recorded 7-23-1850 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Page 1056 Union Co., TN 1860 census: Simon Malone 20, Dicy 21, Jesse M. 1 (Maury family) [I don't know what the Maury family note means. GH] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Page 383 DICEY MALONE, probable dau. of Nathaniel Malone ------------- Dicey MALONE was born 1782 in Granville Co., NC, her birthdate suggested by her 9-31799 Cawsell Co., NC marriage to George EUBANK, Jr., son of George & Betty EUBANK, Sr., left in his 1798 will in Person Co., NC naming wife Betty and sons Thomas, George and James. Dicey seems the dau of Nathaniel MALONE by age, location, and Nathaniel’s relationship with the EUBANK family. It would appear from records that both Dicey and George EUBANK, Jr. had died by 1826. An 1826 record in the Caswell co., NC guardian accounts shows Samuel RAINEY, guardian for Polly and Thomas EUBANK, 1/5 part in suit in Equity vs. Nath’l MALON [sic] in Humphreys Co., W. Tenn. Allowed guardian $20 for travel to Reynoldsburg, W. Ten. to procure Boy Green and to sell him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Page 1107 North Carolina Malone Marriages Dicey Malone m. George Eubank 9-3-1799 Caswell, Co. None of these, of course, could apply to the person you seek but they are the only persons of that name in the 1400+ pages. 1. [MALONE-L] When you hit a dead end
    2. Nicole Simmons
    3. Hi it is the listowner again. The one thing I like about controversy is that it normally livens up a list for a little while. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage some of you to come out of the woodwork for a while. Maybe you have not gotten to the point where you have a dead-end, but simply have not researched that part of your line yet. Go ahead and tell us what you know, maybe someone will recognize you as cousins and you now have a research buddy to keep you motivated. It is a little late tonight but this weekend I will sit down and type out to the list how the Malone surname (and I have a Mallory too) fits into my tree. I invite everyone to join me! I will give you a little to get some of you started. My maternal grandmother's mother was Beatrice Malone of Huntsville, Randolph County, Missouri, USA. She was the only child of Jesse Basley Malone and Alice Gertrude Swetnam. Because many people have told me that I inherited my singing voice from her, I named my daughter Malone. Hope this gets some of you going, Nikki Simmons MALONE-L Listowner nsimmons@mid-mo.net

    1. [MALONE-L] Dead End with Daniel Malone
    2. John Maylone
    3. Dear List, Taking Nikki's cue, let me ask for help with my dead end; My gggg-grandfather Daniel Malone was born circa 1760, probably in Ireland. Family legend is that Daniel came to America through New York. He stayed in New York for some time where he met and married a woman named Mary (possibly Mary Druley). They subsequently moved to Maryland, where their first child was born in 1779, moved to somewhere in Pennsylvania where the rest of their children were born, and settled in Columbiana County, Ohio early in the 1800s. I would like to learn anything I can about Daniel or his wife, their origins and their history before they settled in Ohio. Thanks for listening! John Maylone > Hi it is the listowner again. We never have learned what Dicey might be a nickname for.
