Thanks, but I don't think they're the same Thomas and Mary I'm looking for. There are many Malone/Harper connections in Virginia, but I haven't been able to fit my two in. My Thomas and Mary lived in the Berkeley Co. area until 1815, when they moved to Monongalia Co. to live with their son, John, and wife, Jane McCausland. As he was receiving a RW pension at the time of his death in 1820, that portion of his life is well documented. I still look for connections to the southern VA Malones and Harpers, but since my ancestors married in Montgomery Co. MD, I think that at least Mary may have lived in that area. There were Malones on the Eastern Shore, but I don't think they're the ones either. But, again, thanks for your help. I'll look into that Malone branch. Curt

This is in the Genform message board under MELLOWN........they are connected to my MELLOWN {MALONE} but dont know how....probably through my great great grandfather......This makes the search for the MALONE {MELLOWN} ANCESTORS hard.......because of the pronounciation are alike......and most of the MELLOWN'S could read or write and relied on others to write for them .......My grandfather was born with the name JAMES MEADOW MELLOWN.......when he died in 1969.......he was known as & buried with the name JOHN MEADOW MALONE........ Kim Malone Morris Looking for additional info on my gg-grandfather, John MALONE (name is spelled MELLOWN in mariage records). The following is basically all I know of him. 1) found on 1870 census - Polk Co., TX 2) born ca. 1840, possibly in TX 3) married Charlotte Elizabeth GAY, 25 Dec 1867, Nacogdoches Co., TX Their children: William Calvin MALONE ('Cal') b. Apr 1865, Elbert Eli MALONE ('Eb') b. 28 Sep 1867, and Solomon MALONE b. Mar 1870. Charlotte Elizabeth marries again in 1876 (to James OWEN/OWENS, and again in 1886 to John CARTER). New information indicates that the couple may have split-up. Solomon was unknown to the desecendants of William and Elbert, so he either died young or went with John if there was a seperation. Descendants of William heard that William and Elbert were seperated for a time as children. Descendants of Elbert heard that John had returned on horseback, swooped Elbert up and carried him off. Elbert said that was the last he ever saw of his mother. So, what happened to John MALONE? Did he remarry and have another family? Also, who were his parents?
