    3. Yes I have Carters in my MALONE lineage. My ggreat-grandmother Emma Malone 1870-1953, moved to Dallas Co. TX, with new husband Charley Smith. Estrange from family because of their marriage, they are rumored to have came from Tenn. or Kentucky. After Charley's death in 1930, Emma married Joe Carter. I believe in Dallas County. Is this a possible connection? E-mail me direct at pamsh@webtv.net. Thanks Pam

    3. The Malones I'm tracking came into McLennan County Texas from Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. I believe they came to McLennan Co. because of relatives in neighboring Limestone County. Some of these then went on to Milam and Hamilton and Comanche counties. Your husbands grandfather is probably not that old, and I don't have much on the newer generations. What other clues do you have? 2. Thank you, Thank you. You have just the information that makes sense in my files. I have the 1850 census and didn't know who the children were. I have other older children for Nancy Wells and Pumphrey. I have a few questions if you don't mind. Where did you find the state census, the 1860 census and the 1870 mortality schedule? I would love to find them to help me in my searches. Also, you said it turns out your not directly related to Pumphrey. Are you related to his brothers, fathers or ggg's? Thanks again. Lisa W.

    2. Lisa: For a while I believed that Pumphret Malone (1787-1870) was my direct line. Further research has proved this wrong. Perhaps what information I found will help you. 1820 Census Franklin Co. AL: one male over 21, one male under 21 and one female over 21. 1830 Census Franklin CO. AL: one male 0-5, two males 5-10; one male 10-15, one male 40-50. One female 0-5, one female 15-20 and one female 30-40. 1850 Census Franklin CO. AL: Pumphrey is 63, Mary is 43, Frances is 18, Miles/Milus is 13, David is 12 and James R. is 9. 1855 State Census for Franklin Co. AL, Film Number 1533832, item 12: Pumfret Malone is 70-80, his wife is 60-70. 1860 Census Franklin CO. AL: Pomfrett Malone is 71, Mary is 64 and living with them is Sarah Ramsey 22. He is listed on the 1870 Mortality Schedule for AL: 84 years old, born NC, died July of Paralysis. First wife was Nancy Wells and second wife was Mary "Polly" Runnels, daughter of Moses and Susannah Runnels. I also have children Milus/Miles, Robert, James, Josie and Sarah. Hope this helps you. 3. Hi Shirley, I think when we went to Minter, TX to visit our Malone Family at there last stop, there were Gunn's in one of the grave sites. This is in Lamar county, TX. I haven't visited this site on-line for awhile, but there were Malones in this site. Although I did not look up Gunn, I'm pretty sure there are some. See if you can pull up Lamar County, TX on Rootweb.
